MODULE 1: Incontinence and IAD Assessment
Incontinence, also known as bladder weakness, is any accidental or involuntary loss of urine from the bladder (urinary incontinence) or bowel motion, faeces or wind from the bowel (faecal or anal incontinence). Severity can be from ‘just a small leak’ to complete loss of bladder or bowel control.
During this module, we will explore incontinence, skin related issues and how to assess the individual.
The aim of this module is to aid you with additional information to assist with better assessment and outcomes for people entrusted to your care. By the end of this module, you will understand the following:

– Steps to understand how to promote continence
